A Touch of Optimism

Deep down in one's heart, being optimistic in every challenges faced is important. I got to know a friend not too long ago and I've discovered a dark truth of him. Suffering from mild depression or perhaps mental disorder. I'm not being sympathetic. I'm just trying my best to help him. Being sympathetic and being a friend is totally different story, ok.

Initially I thought it's all because of the stress at work. But little did I know that things already took place when he was in Japan years back. With a glimpse of hope that moving to Singapore will turn things prettier, things just get uglier. Which is why I always believe that running away from problems will not cure the pain. It will just get worse.

There's nothing much I can do for him, except to keep him in my prayers. From what I heard, he's leaving us soon. He's planning to move back to his own country. But deep down inside, I have the urge to tell his situation to his parents. And I clearly know that I should NOT be doing so. It's totally against the morality and ethics. This, I know.

I am glad I saw the light up from above. Once taking medications from mild depression, I am now living a life of a happy little girl.

Best Durian Dessert in Town

Ok... trust me. This has got to be the best! It's a one-year-thing in Singapore whereby they're having this durian dessert festive at... Goodwood Park Hotel.

Happened to be that... on the last day of the combo package promo, I went all the way to Orchard JUST to buy this combo package. And I got lost... at Orchard =.="

Yes, I know.. Orchard's not THAT big. Always being very ignorant of the address, I actually mistaken Park Hotel for Goodwood Park Hotel. Soo sotong! I alighted at Somerset, thinking that Park Hotel IS Goodwoord Park Hotel. I should have known it right from the start!! The moment I walked into Park Hotel, I felt funny that there is actually not a single display of advertisement of their famous durian dessert. And... I was stupid enough to walk up to the receptionist and asked. LOL... The moment I asked, he went... ????

I felt my face turning red. They told me that I need to walk further up to reach GOODWOOD Park Hotel. And they stressed on the word "GOODWOOD"... Haha... very sotong =.="

Fine. From Somerset, I walked all the way to Orchard. And I walked further up to Far East Plaza. And I walked further up and up to GOODWOOD Park Hotel.

And finally, I reached... =.="

Made my purchase of the combo package. Normal price is 30 dollars but they happen to give us sweet March promo for just 22 dollars. Good deal! That is why, under all circumstances, I must buy that combo pack because it was the last day of that March promo. LOL... The package comes in 5 different durian desserts and the ratings are as below:

Rank #5: Durian & Crunchu Hazelnut Tartlet

Rank #4: Durian, Pandan & Coconut Cake

Rank #3: Durian Oreo Cake

Rank #2: Durian Puff

Rank #1: Durian Strudel

Among all the five, durian strudel is a MUST TRY!! It's really really nice and it's the best durian dessert I've tried. And when I say it's nice for certain desserts, it's superb! I have a very critical taste bud for desserts and most desserts just disappoint me big time! But this durian strudel... please go ahead and try.

When my sisters are here, I'll be buying strudel for them. Others aren't worth that money so no point buying. I'd rather bring them to somewhere else for better desserts. LOL... I just cant wait for another bite of that strudel...

Btw, currently one small slice of strudel costs 8.80 and the whole log of strudel costs 48 dollars. This durian dessert season will end in August. And lemme remind you again, it's a one-year-thing. Not all time. So if you happen to drop by Singapore, go try that. =)

ermm.. darn... I can't remember to name of that hotel!
